Dear friends and supporters,
Last night was one of those nights that make ministry so delightful. I have been spending the day time hours finishing the renovation project and reserving evenings for Bible studies. Bible studies happen Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Normal procedure would be to travel into Boston to meet with various people at various places. The house project has temporarily changed that practice. After a day of working on a building, teaching the Bible to people is energizing. Last night was one of those nights.
Joe, Casey, Craig, Yangli, Eva, and another Joe showed up for supper and the Bible study yesterday evening. We studied 1 John 3. The study proceeded with each person reading a verse. Then questions about vocabulary or concepts were asked. Next comments clarifying the meaning of the passage were given. At the end of the study each person was asked to explain lessons they learned from the text. We concluded by praying together—all prayed. Four of the six participants in this study placed their faith in Christ after having learned the gospel through our evangelistic studies. Another participant may have become a Christian during this very study. We will see.
What an awesome privilege it is to join our God in His work of saving people. I never cease to marvel at God’s work in transforming individuals into His followers.
Sitting around the kitchen table helping young Christians learn to walk with the Lord is indeed wonderful. It makes fixing the building in which they are sitting worthwhile.
We love you,
Bill and Deb
