Dear friends and supporters,
Thank you for being our co-workers by means of prayer and giving.
Our Call to the City
This is the fifth of eleven email prayer letters designed to report on the progress and prospects of the Boston ministry. Although originally intending to write about the Boston interns, I have decided to provide an overview of our ministry vision and ministry plan instead.
Since God has brought the world to the city, we believe it is our stewardship from God to be great commission ministers in the city. By ministering to the great number of nationalities and ethnicities found in global cities, we are potentially able to fulfill God’s command to make disciples from all nations. Following human relationships formed in Boston enables us to travel globally with the gospel.
We are planning on fulfilling our responsibility by networking global-city church planting on four levels: local, regional, continental, and international. These networks include individual churches, Bible colleges and seminaries, and mission agencies working together to use Boston as a starting point to plant churches in other strategic cities around the world. Ultimately, the goal is to help facilitate the developing of ten healthy churches in strategic world-class cities. By healthy churches, I mean discipleship centers able to effectively minister the gospel to their city thereby impacting their region of the world.
This series of letters is intended to report on the progress in fulfilling this ministry calling. If you would like to read more about the ministry plan, please click here and then click on my thesis found at the bottom of the page. The ministry plan is found on pages 211-225. Lord willing, next week the topic of this letter will be the Boston internship program and the Boston interns. You may read past prayer letters by clicking here.
Serving with you in Boston,
