Dear friends and supporters,

Thank you for being our co-workers by means of prayer and giving.

In our July 23 prayer letter, we began to share why it is our goal to join our Savior in the establishment of a multi-ethnic church. This is the first of a series of letters explaining why it is important to do so.

Our call is to make disciples of all nations by ministering the gospel to the world in Boston. It is our conviction that we must minister to all the world in Boston. We must have a multi-ethnic church. Here is why.

Since Jesus Christ has commanded us to make disciples of all nations, since He informed us that He has all authority, and since He promised us He would be with us until the end of age, we believe it is possible to make disciples of all nations. But how?

We are able to do so by joining the One who promised to go with us. Our Savior’s promise to us is more than a religious cliche not to be taken seriously. Rather, His promise assures us He will make obeying His command possible. How would he do such a thing?

Jesus has prepared global cities for the gospel. That is to say, there is a reason why our global cities are full of peoples from all nations, God did it. God has brought the nations of the world to the major cities of the world, so that we Christians can actually do what He has asked us to do, make disciples of all nations. By following the human connections of those who come to faith in Christ, we are able to not only make disciples of all nations in Boston, but we are also able to make disciples of friends and relatives of disciples in Boston, who do not live in Boston.

It is our conviction that the body of Christ should mobilize in the city in-order to join our Savior in the building of His global church. Furthermore, reaching the global city to reach the world should be the priority of mission agencies, Bible colleges, seminaries, and, most importantly, local churches.

In our next letter, we will discuss why it is biblically improper for a church to minister to only one ethnicity in a multi-ethnic city.

Notes: 1. Bill’s 60th birthday was Sunday. His first three happy birthday wishes came from mainland China. He plans to retire in 30 years—Lord willing. 2. Men (Daniel) will be returning to China in September. Over the last three years, Men studied the Bible with us. He came to Christ and was baptized recently. He is another disciple who is returning home a changed person able to make Christ known in China. 3. Over the last year, we spent close to $30,000.00 on (ministry) home improvements. These improvements help us host our church family and they increase our effectiveness in day by day ministry. The ministry home is an essential part of the Boston ministry.

We love you,
