Wonderful Opportunities
Last Wednesday, we reported about the wonderful opportunities which are ahead for the International Baptist Church (IBC). As you may recall, since many members of our church family have recently moved back home or to other areas of the world, our church family has many new opportunities. One of those opportunities is to refill the vacant seats at our Sunday morning service with those responding to the gospel message.
Another opportunity is for members of the IBC to speak to the church family on Sunday mornings. In our efforts to network global church planting, I (Bill) am often ministering elsewhere on Sunday mornings, and, since Toby Stevens and Andy Scott are away raising support in order to minster vocationally in Boston, we have no professionally trained speakers for Sunday morning services. This situation has provided opportunities for members of the IBC to minister.
Steve Caesar is a Harvard trained creationist who came to Christ after studying Christian evidences. He is normally a quiet person but comes alive when teaching about the veracity of the Bible. His particular strength is his ability to show the inherent weaknesses of the secular arguments against the truthfulness of the Bible. If you are in need of a specialist to help your congregation in this area, I recommend that you ask Steve for help. If you request, I will send you his contact information.

Ronnie is a relatively young Christian who will be going back to China in the spring of 2015. He has committed himself to be an IBC liaison to young Christians returning to China. We are preparing him to do so. Recently, Ronnie spoke at a Sunday morning service and also administered the Lord’s Supper. He did a fine job and several commented that he should speak again. In fact, some, who have difficulty understanding me, commented on how easy it was to understand Ronnie’s teaching:-).

In the future, there will be more opportunities for members of the IBC to minister the Word on Sunday mornings. By doing so, our Chinese disciples will be preparing to minister in the house church movement in their homeland. What appeared to be a challenging time for the IBC is turning out to be a divinely provided opportunity to join our Savior in the discipling of the nations. We serve a great God.
