Fellow workers for the truth

Scripture

Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth. 3 John 5-8

Explanation

John is commending Gaius for his financial support of vocational Christian workers. John identifies these workers as those who “went forth for His name’s (Jesus Christ) sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles.” John explains that to partner financially with vocational Christian workers is to send them on their mission in a manner worthy of God. John provides another important missional principle by confirming that the one who gives to the vocational worker and the one who ministers vocationally are fellow-workers for the truth.

Our Dependency

We (Bill and Deb) are dependent upon the giving of God’s people. We are vocational Christian workers, dedicated to strategic urban-church planting. Your financial support makes it possible for us to serve, and, when you support us, you become our fellow workers for the truth.

Financial Information

We (Bill and Deb) are Baptist Mid-Mission missionaries. Any funds that we receive go through the Baptist Mid-Missions accounting department and is then placed into our mission account. This provides important accountability and record keeping. Any one who gives to the Edmondson mission account will receive a tax deductible donation receipt.

Financial Need as of May 2017

Our (Bill’s and Deb’s) support estimate is divided into two sections: personal funds and ministry funds. The support estimate is formed in consultation with members of the Baptist Mid-Missions financial accountability staff. The total amount of monthly personal and ministry funds needed is $8,183.00 Our financial partners now give $7,153.54 of committed monthly support. This means that we lack almost $1,000.00 of monthly support. The Edmondson support estimate is attached for your inspection.
