Welcome, Reader! Somehow or other you have managed to stumble across our ministry website. Whether it was on purpose or while mindlessly surfing the net, we are glad you are here. Let me explain the reason this site exists. By the posting of various stories, prayer requests, statistics and pictures, we hope to keep our prayer and financial supporters, as well as potential recruits, updated on the goings on as Deb and I minister the gospel to the world next door.
So what exactly is our ministry? It is our desire to share the life we have in Jesus Christ with our friends from all over the world. We believe that the Savior has providentially prepared the world for this type of ministry. It is now possible to minister the gospel to all the world by just walking across the street. For those who follow the Savior, the alienation, pain, and death pervasive in our world makes offering the gospel of reconciliation with God and man a must. The fact that the peoples of the world have scattered across the world makes walking across the street mandatory.
Deb and I feel that God has been preparing us for this ministry all of our lives. Both of us became Christians while in college, and were almost immediately drawn to the international community found in academia. Since that time, we have been either preparing or ministering to the international academic community. Over the last twenty years, we have been ministering in Boston. One of the fruits of our labor was the planting of a little church right in the middle of the city. As that small body of believers blossomed and grew, we came to the realization that a ministry that effectively reaches out to other parts of the world must, first of all, minister to the whole world in Boston. As a result of God’s leading in our lives, we endeavored to build a second, model church that would be a template for other churches in Boston and also around the world. That church now has a pastor.
Now God has lead us by a strong hand to a small town in Iowa, next to a small but strategically significant city of Iowa City. God has helped us realized that large cities are not the only places where the peoples of the world travel and settle. It is now pretty much everywhere you can find peoples from other parts of the world. So we walk across the street.
I hope this site helps you join the Savior along with us, as we walk across the street to minister the gospel to the foreigner next door.
